Per City of Redding...California is entering its fourth year of a historic drought.  As a result Governor Brown has issued an Executive Order directing the State Water Board to implement water restrictions statewide.  These call for the Redding Water utility to cut water production by 36 percent compared with 2013 beginning June 1.  While the City is optimistic this is an attainable goal with smart water use by Redding customers, everyone must do their part.

Effective June 1, 2015, adoption of Mandatory Water Conservation Measures include:

• Equip ornamental fountains, ponds or lakes with a water recycling system.
• Do not allow water used for outdoor irrigation to run off onto non-irrigated areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, streets or structures.  Make sure the irrigation system is functioning properly.  Leaky systems are one of the major contributors to water waste. Of course, do not wash down sidewalks or driveways.

Residential Landscaping

In a Water Wise Symposium on June 24, 2015 Mayor Sullivan encouraged residents to be wise in responding to the obvious concerns of drought.  It is important to follow the water schedules, but make sure the trees are receiving enough water.  Start with initiating the watering schedules as mandated by the City and make sure the irrigation systems/methods are appropriate and in good working order.  Many sprinkler systems are out of balance resulting in dry spots and other areas over watered.  We can do a survey and make improvements to your system which can save you money over time and revitalize your lawn.  Call today

Irrigation (Repairs & Installs)

Currently, City of Redding customers whose street addresses end with an odd number may water only on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday within the permitted time periods.

Customers whose street addresses end with an even number may water only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday within the permitted time periods.

Irrigate outdoor landscapes or turf on your watering days only from midnight to 7 am. And 9 pm to midnight.  Watering 3 times per day during the summer months may be required to keep your lawn looking good.  We have products than can retain moisture and release it slowly over several days to help keep your lawn looking good.  All outdoor watering is prohibited on Monday.
